Catholic League President: Tim Cook, NCAA "Jumped On Gay Crazy Bandwagon"

"This is what the social media has done in this country."

Bill Donohue, the president of the Catholic League, says "the social media" has caused people like Apple CEO Tim Cook and the NCAA to "jump on the gay crazy bandwagon."

Donohue was referring to Cook's condemnation of Indiana's Religious Freedom Restoration Act, which has become the source of a huge, heated debate in recent days. The law prohibits the government from infringing on individual religious freedom, unless certain standards are met; the law also covers corporations and can be raised in private litigation. Some argue that the law will lead to legalized discrimination against LGBT people.

"This is what the social media has done in this country," Donohue told NewsMaxTV's Steve Malzberg Show. "These people have jumped on this gay crazy bandwagon and they want to pound their chest and say 'I am so much in favor gay rights.''

"Can't they also be in favor or religious liberty? Why don't we hear a single word from these people's month about the necessity of having a Religious Freedom Restoration Act in all states. The gap is rather sickening."
