Barack Obama Used Troop Deaths To Ding Bush, McCain Support For Iraq In 2008
The Obama campaign hit Mitt Romney for using the “tragic death of one of our diplomatic officers in Libya” to “launch a political attack.” On a July 2008 appearance on CNN, then-Senator used the death of U.S. troops in Afghanistan as talking point to ding John McCain and President Bush for their support of the Iraq War.

amberh8 8 months agoWhile I understand the point being made here I can’t help but think the two really don’t compare. Libya was a tragic thing but definitely not planned, the war in Iraq was a strategy launched by Bush under false pretenses of “weapons of mass destruction”. Many people didn’t and still don’t agree with that war and feel that young men and women died for nothing. Obama wasn’t apologizing to Libyan terrorists but apologizing for the thoughtless hate expressed in the “movie” that caused outrage. Sure, we could never apologize for anything but that’s why everyone hates our country because we act like pompous assholes. He wasn’t excusing their actions in any way. Romney seized upon an opportunity that came off very tacky but Obama was making a point about a needless war that he eventually ended.

jimb31 8 months agoObama hates the military. He doesn’t know the difference between ours and Russian ships or Turkish fighters, Admirals and Generals, or his ass from a hole in the ground. He sends form letters to special ops troops who are killed on his personal raid. The distain for all things military is an outgrowth of Carmel hippies spiting on troops during Viet Nam. His mom must have taught him that. What a dolt. A teenager playing government.

sherryg4 8 months agoSo Obama circumvents Congress to give the Muslim Brotherhood one and a half billion dollars, he supports the Libyan ‘rebels’ with weaponry, and now that they’ve shown (and are continuing to show) their appreciation in typical Muslim fashion, all you Obama idiots can talk about is what Mitt Romney did wrong?
