This Woman Travelled To The Seven Wonders Of The World After She Was Diagnosed With Cancer

"Now I have routine checks and wear a lot of sunscreen!"

This is San Francisco-based filmmaker Megan Sullivan.

Back in 2015, Sullivan was diagnosed with skin cancer, was in a car accident, and fell off a cliff within the same fortnight.

After being diagnosed, Sullivan got the skin cancer treated surgically and then decided to take stock of her precious time on this earth by travelling around it.

Specifically, Sullivan wanted to see each of the seven Wonders of the World.

In 13 days, Sullivan travelled to 12 countries, took 15 flights, and travelled a total of 28,211 miles.

She saw the Colosseum in Rome and visited the Great Wall of China.

She marvelled at the Taj Mahal, touched the statue of Christ in Brazil, and skateboarded in Istanbul.

Sullivan explained that she fortunately was able to travel the world because of her line of work.

"I have a very high-demanding job which fortunately pays enough for me to be able to travel," she said. "A massive misconception is that you have to be Bill Gates to travel the world… False."

"Decreasing useless spending on your day-to-day will allow you to not only save for any trip that you desire; but, it will empower you to get rid of a lot of waste in your life," she continued. "Personally, I constantly have a savings account specifically for travel and I don’t put anything onto credit cards. But, I also have been wearing the same jeans for three years and my friends know that I always bring my water canteen filled with box wine to any San Francisco bar."

Sullivan happily reported to BuzzFeed: "Now I have routine checks and wear a lot of sunscreen!"
