Matt Lauer Asks Sarah Palin If She’s “Reading Some Newspapers”

This is already so awkward.

Tomorrow Sarah Palin will co-host the “Today” show. (NBC booked her so that Katie Couric doesn’t crush them in the ratings when she co-hosts “Good Morning America.”) Strongly suggesting that the program will in fact be as awkward as one can imagine, Matt Lauer teased tomorrow’s show in a phone call with Palin this morning by asking, perhaps condescendingly, if Palin is reading the papers, prompting a hearty guffaw from Al Roker and a schoolyard-style “OHHHHH” from Ann Curry, et al.
