Bottomless Is The New Topless [NSFW]
It’s the latest craze in fashion photography.
1. Fashion photography used to be all about toplessness.
A hot lady, no shirt, maybe some pants or bikini bottoms — this has been the essence of sex appeal for ages.
2. Now fashion photography is all about bottomlessness.
3. Flip through some fashion mags on newsstands, and it won’t be long before you come along a crazy-looking model wearing bunny ears, a blazer — and no bottoms.
4. The trend arguably began with Gisele.
She modeled a backpack without wearing pants in the April 2011 issue of Vogue Paris.
5. “Love” magazine ran an artsy suggestion of bottomlessness in its spring ‘12 issue.
6. The pants-free look then made its way to the cover of “Harper’s Bazaar Brazil.”

7. But bottomlessness really reached new heights in the summer. Here’s Kate Upton taking a stab at it for “Contributor” magazine’s August ‘12 issue.
Back arched, this is what some might call a more overt bottomlessness. But she’s an innovator like that in the world of modeling.
8. A sporty bottomless look wound up in the August issue of “i-D.”
9. “Purple” magazine also experimented with the bare ass look in a recent issue.
10. In September, “Numero” gave us the sweater/chair bottomless look.
11. Miranda Kerr modeled this bizarre metallic vest without pants in October’s “Vogue Italia.”
12. “Numero” put bottomlessness on a STAIRCASE in the November issue.
13. Kate Moss went bottomless for the December ‘12 issue of “Vanity Fair.”
14. And of course, these are the kinds of photos of Rihanna that end up on Instagram regularly these days.
16. The look has gone so viral, it’s even spread to the men of Pinterest.
I’m told when a guy does this it’s called “shirt-cocking.” But bottomlessness is obviously a much less vulgar way to refer to it.

jimmierayg a month agoIf you read the very thick book, “The Nudist Society”, published back in the 1970s if I recall right, the book’s authors demonstrate that among Nudists, going “bottomless” is more prevalent compared to the “topless craze” in Clothed Society. So it took awhile then for it to become this trend as you see it now, but the idea has been around at least since then, if not since when they first made something that can be separated into a top and a bottom, ala the “Bikini” two-piece swimsuit. I think that’s when the phrases of “topless” and “bottomless” came into the context of clothing/nudity, as opposed to missing one’s head or buttocks.

higorvalle 5 months agoJust for the record, #6 isn’t Harper’s Bazaar Brazil, it’s Spain. Just take a minute to read and to realize they don’t speak Spanish in Brazil, but portuguese.
