Gotta love the whiny miss with the language capacity of a 13 year old. I’m sure everyone in the theater will miss your overwhelming presence and rapier wit “OK!?!” Seriously, people like this should be smacked before being thrown out of the theater. “I DIDN’T KNOW YOU COULDN’T TEXT!!!”  You know what I didn’t know? That you seriously lacked basic COMMON SENSE. Get some and maybe you’ll be allowed back into normal society. Until that point, please isolate yourself to save us the trouble of dealing with you …and perhaps put your protective helmet back on, you moron.

My Two Cents, or In Defense of Alamo Drafthouse. Most people eating and drinking are not doing it obnoxiously (slurping, eating with mouth open, lip-smacking) so I don’t really notice. Also, having popcorn, soda and candy while watching a movie is common, and has been for years, so I have built up an “immunity” to the sound of eating and drinking.  Other sounds (coughing, sneezing) are also excusable, since the person doesn’t usually periodically sneeze (as most texters frequently text) during the movie, and a person really can’t control his sneezing; it’s not like a person coughs or sneezes for fun.  People that text are not so easily ignored, especially when the backlight is not subtle like the lights along the footpaths. Also, is it really necessary? In most cases, I’d say texting is not. Wait until after the movie is over. You can argue that having food and drinks is also not necessary, but that is part of the experience… well not my experience cos I don’t like popcorn in my teeth, but back to the point! If I paid eight dollars to see a movie, please be courteous and try not to interrupt the movie, okay texters? I make an effort to be polite and let YOU enjoy the movie, so pretend it’s the nineties: You and every other person does not have a cellphone, so turn it off and pretend it doesn’t exist. Thanks. Also, I know it’s your money and none of my business, but I’m curious, texter-people: Why pay for the movie if you’re gonna text during the whole of it?

I like the part where she claims to be using her phone as a flashlight, then completely ruins her story by saying “It was on silent, it wasn’t bothering anybody.”

Hah, filled with win! “Imma go to the other people were people are actually POLITE”, yeah, polite enough to not tell you to shut the fuck up and put that torch of a smart phone away because I can see it from 5 rows back and it’s distracting me from the movie just as much as your whore mouth it….yes….go to the polite theaters :P .

I wish there was an Alamo Drafthouse where I live. UK cinemas could do with taking that stance on rude moviegoers. The amount of times I’ve been sat near someone texting through a film or chatting in that ‘I think I’m being quiet but I’m really not’ kind of way…

There’s no way that they couldn’t have been aware that they can’t text. The Drafthouse even has a 3 minute loltastic intro quite literally stating that they will kick your ass out. Unless they were, you know.. texting through that too.

seriously, I’m not trying to bash Americans, like at all, but what is with this attitude that people within the United States adopt(I’m sure its other places, but I’ve never heard it so far)”I’m from the United States, therefor I can do whatever the hell I want?” Every time I hear someone utter those completely juvenile words it makes me want to find them and slap them square across the face. I’m pretty sure you’re supposed to get over that attitude once you realize the world doesn’t revolve around you..oh wait, never mind, I think I just answered my own question…

That’s nothing. Some girl threw something at one of the managers in a theater that I worked for, and they called the police. When she refused to leave the theater to talk to the policeman, he tazed her and dragged her out in cuffs. People in the theater clapped. Suck it rude moviegoers!

I want to thumbscrew the owners of every glowing screen in the dark. Good on you, Alamo Drafthouse. Seems like no one’s got the guts to stand up.
