is it me or that's like the fifth “mugshot of the year” this year?

It's basically the same stat twice: Let's state that the US has a population of 100 americans, composed of 50 democrats and 50 republicans (easiser on the math and close to reality). 25% of 50 (pop of republicans) = 12.5 ~ 13 persons. So on 100 americans, there are 13 republicans on 100 americans, hence 13% of the total population, that believe shit.
