    Why hold an International Women's Day event at a men-only club?

    1. Queensland's Liberal National party women’s group is facing criticism for holding its International Women’s Day event at Tattersall's club. A club which only allows male members.

    When asked about it at Question Time, minister for women/prime minister Tony Abbott praised the group:

    ... good on the Liberal National party, smashing the glass ceiling yet again. I say congratulations and thank God that bastion of old-fashioned chauvinism has finally collapsed like the walls of Jericho at the trumpet cry of the Liberal National Party.

    So here are some other venues that we think could be equally appropriate as Tattersall's to host an International Women's Day forum.

    This mens only club is so exclusive that I couldn't even get inside the website. Maybe it knows I'm a woman.

    According to its website, "The Athenaeum Club is a private social club for gentlemen of good character, attainment or promise."

    Members are required to embrace something called 'The Seven Pillars' where the pillars are obviously a metaphor for dick.
