A Gay Artist Quite Literally Schooled Someone Who Sent Him Hate Mail

    "D minus (see me)".

A few months ago Manchester-based artist Conor Collins unveiled his latest work – a portrait of Caitlyn Jenner made out of hateful tweets about her.

Collins told BuzzFeed News that he admired how Jenner had used her position and privilege to make a difference, "So naturally like anyone curious I went on her Twitter to see more, and was horrified by some of the comments. When I saw these, I wanted to show them because it is a reality of what trans people experience every day."

However, he also received hate mail as a result of his creation.

And he decided to give one letter he received a mark.

When we approached him, Collins offered BuzzFeed some wise words about dealing with trolls.

He said: "All I would say is don't let trolls drag you down to their level. Only a person unhappy in their own lives wants to spend their free time bringing others down. Being too busy being happy is the best revenge I'd say!"

Earlier this week he told Gay Times that "the more hate messages you are getting, the more likely you are doing something that is making change. So my first postal hate mail felt like a healthy progression."
