Why You Have To Start Watching "iZombie" Right Now

Don't you go giving me that "I'm just not into zombies" excuse.

There's a show airing Tuesdays on The CW that I'm gonna need more people to watch so I can talk to them about it.

It's from the creative minds behind Veronica Mars, and it's got the verbal kick to prove it.

It's really not like the other zombie shows on TV, so chances are you'll like it whether zombies are your thing or not.

In fact, it's kind of like if Veronica Mars, Pushing Daisies, and Wonderfalls had a zombie baby.

A hint of darkness, a lot of humor — and a spunky heroine just trying to navigate the particular set of baggage life has thrown at her. More earnest than Veronica, and definitely a few shades darker than Ned the Piemaker. Liv's her own, but she'll probably remind you of a few others you've loved in the past.

The main character absorbs the traits of the person whose brain she's eaten — and she uses that to fight crime.

For real, the show's concept leads to some pretty interesting scenarios.

I can't even begin to explain what's happening in that gif up there, you just have to see it for yourself.

This is the most fun, quippy, and earnest a zombie show has ever gotten.

Her boss/friend is searching for a zombie cure, and she's trying to figure out how to keep living a human life while technically being dead.

This cast will charm your freaking pants off.

The main character's boss/friend and her biggest enemy are particularly killing it.

Charm oozing out of every pore — benevolent charm for one of these gents, menacing for the other.

And it's got guest stars that multiple fandoms should most definitely be drooling over.

Merlin's Bradley James has a memorable arc. And Veronica Mars alums are all over the place, including Ryan Hansen (who played Dick Casablancas), Percy Daggs III (the former/forever Wallace Fennel), and Daran Norris (Cliff McCormack). Something tells me that's just the beginning.

It's getting better and better as it goes on.

It's our responsibility to make sure this fandom blossoms, because this cast and these creators deserve it.

EXCLUSIVE LOOK AT #IZOMBIE SEASON 2!

And this show is just begging for more fandom action like what Veronica Mars and The Walking Dead have.

It's about time someone picked up on the subtext. Well done. #RaJor https://t.co/bGTrArbs7r

There are definitely already fans, and there's already a small and beautiful fandom out there for this show. But I think we can make this even bigger and more raucous and even more fun. We've got all summer to amp this up. Let's get on it. I want to see so many more GIF sets, headcanons, and fan art by next season.

WE CAN DO THIS.

Plus, there are only 13 episodes in the first season, so it's an easy summer binge.

There's basically no excuse not to be caught up by Season 2.

Happy watching!
