It's hard to have clear eyes when your heart's so full you're sobbing.

"You surprise me, honey. Ever since the minute I knew you were coming, 'til right now. You are a wonder. I have no idea what's gonna happen with you. Not a clue. I have no idea what kind of college you're gonna go to, or anything. But I know one thing, with all my heart: That you are gonna have everything that you are dreaming of."
"Two years ago, I was afraid of wanting anything. I figured wanting would lead to trying and trying would lead to failure. But now I find I can’t stop wanting. I want to fly somewhere on first class. I want to travel to Europe on a business trip. I want to get invited to the White House. I want to learn about the world. I want to surprise myself. I want to be important. I want to be the best person I can be. I want to define myself instead of having others define me. I want to win and have people be happy for me. I want to lose and get over it. I want to not be afraid of the unknown. I want to grow up and be generous and big-hearted, the way people have been with me. I want an interesting and surprising life. It’s not that I think I’m going to get all these things. I just want the possibility of getting them.”
Coach: "You better stop being so damn selfish and stop feeling sorry for yourself!"
Saracen: "Shut up! Just shut up! You don't care about me! You left me for a better job! Your daughter left me for a better guy! Carlotta left me for Guatemala! My dad left me for a damn war! Everybody leaves me! What is wrong with me?"
Coach: [Pause] "Nothing's wrong with you. There's nothing wrong with you at all."
"OK, you know what, I'm not here to solve all your problems, Garrity, I'm not. I'm here to support you no matter what choice you make, that's why I'm here. I'm your boyfriend, I think I'm a pretty darn good one. You know what? Your dad threw you a good curveball. But this self-pity that I've been seeing, it's gotta stop. You're better than that, OK?...Did I just say I love you? Did I? No? 'Cause I'm kind of madly in love with you."
Riggins: "I hope you get everything – I hope you get everything you want. But no matter what happens in there, you're always gonna be my best friend. And you deserve to be happy."
Street: "Thank you." [Pause] "Texas forever."
Becky: "We don’t have any money. I’m in the tenth grade. It was my first time, and I threw it away. And I don’t want to throw my life away. It’s just, it’s just really obvious that my mom wants me to have this abortion. Because I was her mistake, and she has just struggled and hurt, every day. And she wanted better. And I knew better. And I was just thinking, you know, forget what she wants. Like, what do I want? Maybe I could take care of this baby, and maybe I would be good at it. And I could love it, and I would be there for it. And then I just think about how awful it would be, if I had the baby, and then I spent the rest of my life resenting him. Or her."
Tami: "I would tell her...to think about her life. And think about what's important to her and what she wants. And I'd tell her she's in a real rough spot. And then I would support whatever decision she made."
"You changed my life, Coach."
"I feel like you think that I'm just gonna leave and forget everything that you guys did for me. But that's not happening. Because I love Stevie. And I'm gonna love the twins just as much. And I'm gonna be over at y'all's house all the time whether you like it or not. We're family."
