No one doubts that there are plenty of cat owners that are obsessive. I don’t doubt the plausibility of most of the instructions. There are a few places here that scream “fake”, though. Most notable is tasting the water to check the temp. I think all but the very most insane would recognize that it’s beyond the pale to ask someone else to do that.  And then there’s the line about not spending $25 all in one place. You don’t put that in there unless the task for which you are paying the person is extremely trivial and both easy and quick to complete. You don’t give someone more instructions for watching your two cats than the average parents would give for watching their two kids for an equal amount of time and then proceed to make light of how little you’re compensating him for his trouble. I’m as sure as I can be (short of having a confession on the matter) that this is, at least in part, fake. Maybe it was real to begin with, but I feel almost certain it was embellished, perhaps by Rob the Catsitter himself, as a “Crazy Cat Lady” joke.

What? I don’t see the problem, except that Kelly didn’t specify which songs to sing to the cats as they are burped because my cats are very particular: showtunes for one and boybands for the other.

Doubt it’s fake. My aunt is just as obsessed about her two cats. And they also cannot be in the same room. One is upstairs, one downstairs. I have not seen my aunt and uncle in town together in years (except for funerals) because one of them has to stay at home with the cats. Only one comes to town at a time. The ONE time they both came, they took two seperate cars, one cat per car. Four hour drive…

To the people who think this is a joke: I highly doubt it. My sis had a friend (we’ll call her Beulah) who had two cats and a dog. My sis checked up on the animals a couple of times when Beulah went out of town. I have personally seen the three typed pages of specific instructions that Beulah left for my sister. Strangely, Beulah also had one cat that had to be isolated when the animals were alone in the apartment, otherwise this cat would go ape shit on the other two.

there’s a reason why the term “crazy cat lady” exists.. i wouldn’t be surprised if there was at least 1 person who actually did this.. there are ppl who consider their pets as their children.. so it isn’t totally impossible for this to be real
