The Illinois governor was arrested for corruption, including charges that he tried to sell Obama's Senate seat to the highest bidder. posted The federal complaint, filed by none other than Patrick Fitzgerald (of Plame/Libby fame), is delightfully long and expletive-ridden, including the observation from Blago that a Senate seat “is a f—-ing valuable thing, you just don’t give it away for nothing.” Prosecutors also allege that Blago screwed over the Tribune Company and accepted many a bribe during the course of his tenure. It is a new dawn for Chicago politics.
