I don't think she's much of a compelling public issue herself, but I think it's good to have the conversation about our society's totally unrealistic (and even dangerous) notions of physical beauty. Even 10 pounds heavier she wasn't fat, and it's time the media really started talking about it. Even if said media is a hack rag like Vanity Fair.

Hey Amanda, I don't understand why you think this is so controversial; it's just an actress on the cover of a magazine. It's definitely not the most controversial magazine cover in history like you say it is.
