Well, without a doubt, the other method works better and helps the child get a sense of discipline….My Ma would'a WHIPPED the tarnation out of mine and/or my brother's ass in a moment if we were acting up! And, on occasion, she did.
We deserved it, she was there for us!
Of course, that was back when parents were allowed to discipline their children without losing then to family services.

My brother had to have a leash thing when he was little bitty. The moment he went in stores he would run away from my mother and hide from her for hours. I didn't need one because I wasn't a little shit like that. For some kids it's actually a safe option.

I just take issue with anyone who uses a leash on their children. What a disgusting practice. The kid behaves like most cats would to being leashed. Jesus!

Oh that kid was fine..probably a brat..but fine and probably not the first time he's done that. Hilarious.

The terrible thing here is that nobody raised a concern for that child. True we don't know what happened exactly but this mother should be investigated. Kids can be annoying in public but so can adults. I don't get to drag annoying d-bags through the store just because they won't shut up about their favorite college basketball team, now do I?

There's a small but significant population of parents out there who should try this method any time they bring their kids into a public space. Forget the Ritalin, Adderall, Strattera, or Concerta; your kid is really flippin' annoying to everyone without a hundred-yard radius with or without that stuff. Try a handful of Benadryl, maybe washed down by a sippy cup filled with a 2:1 milk and whiskey mixture, and a short, heavy-duty tow strap instead, as suggested by this video. There—isn't that better?

I hate children, but I don't find this funny at all.  Maybe my soul is softening?
