Happy Banned Books Week!
Just in time to kick Sarah Palin while she’s down, Sept 27- Oct 4 is Banned Books Week, celebrating Catcher in the Rye, The Color Purple, Harry Potter, and all the books your librarian hid in the “Mature” section. I think we can all spare a minute to thank the First Amendment for Judy Blume.

Byrhtnoth 4 years agoThis is the time of year you Leftists list a whole bunch of books as “banned” that exist in every library in the world - like Harry Potter. Somewhere, some fundie complained and so you gleefully you add it to your “Banned Books” list. But I collect banned books - books you won’t find anywhere because thay are banned - truely banned. It isn’t some silly, powerless fundie that complained about these books - it is very wealthy, very powerful, and very dangerous people who complain about them. For starters - anything David Irving every wrote. How about Alexander Solzhenitsyn’s “Little Black Book of Communism.” Then of course there is Stephen Walt and John Mearsheimer, author of The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy “disinvited” from speaking at Chicago’s Council on Global Affairs. Then there is the play “My Name is Rachael Corrie” banned by New York Theatre Workshop . The list goes on - but of course you aren’t interested in books that are really banned. That would be dangerous - and not nearly so hip.
