Argument is full of holes actually. I could debate 85% off what she says…minimum if I ignore the other 15%.
Oh sure it's idyllic and such, but hardly a airtight argument.
Arguing that gay marriage should be legal based on the generalization that hetero relationships are less meaningful then gay relationships is irrational. What does the quality of relationships have to do with anything?
I'm not going to argue point for point cause it would take too long.
I will say this: It is all political, regardless of what she says. Gay couples have legal means to protect their rights. Talk to a lawyer and they'll give you the lowdown. Single people are the most screwed if we want to go down that road. Singles should have the same tax credits as married couples, etc etc. Problem solved. I'm fairly certain that if single people and married people had the same exact privileges and rights from the govt under the law, this debate would be non-existent.
