daisyheadailsa commented on What Movie Has The Best But Most Underrated Costuming Of All Time?

I came here to say this! They had the TINIEST costume budget which is why it is even more impressive! Didn't they end up with an Oscar nom despite making everything out of the cheapest material possible?

daisyheadailsa commented on When Did An Actor Step Outside Their Typical Genre, And It Really Worked?

Melissa McCarthy in 'Can You Ever Forgive Me?'. She plays a cynical, aggressive, alcoholic, struggling writer in 1990s New York. Totally unrecognisable. It's a shame she is more known for being the token overweight comedic sidekick because she is OUTSTANDING in this. This performance…

daisyheadailsa commented on If There Was An Academy Award For Best Casting In A Motion Picture, Which Films Would've For Sure Won?

Priscilla Queen of the Desert: The casting in this film was perfection. All three actors nailed the portrayal of three very different LGBTQ+ journeys. It's crazy to think Hugo Weaving was 3rd choice for Tick, Terrance Stamp was reluctant to say yes and Guy Pearce was hired 'at the…

daisyheadailsa commented on Name A TV Series You Started But Absolutely Refused To Finish

Insatiable. I couldn't get past the first episode. It's meant to be satire but it just comes across offensive. I'm all for dark humor and witty writing but it just isn't done well at all. It's like they didn't even try to make the protagonist likeable.

daisyheadailsa commented on When Did A TV Show Take Things Too Far?

Breaking Bad: Walter killing Mike. For me, it was the point where Walt's character truly became the villan. Every other 'bad' decision he previously made had some sort of reasoning behind it.. but killing his friend/mentor/business partner was too much.

Leslie Knope and Ron Swanson: They are so supportive of each other and it's so endearing to see two people who are COMPLETE opposites have such a strong friendship.

daisyheadailsa commented on Which Fictional Couple Should Have Ended Up Together?

Owen Hunt and Cristina Yang from Grey's Anatomy. I mean, the show is technically not finished.. but Sandra Oh has left. They went through a lot of crap together (unexpected pregnancy, abortion, marriage disagreements, meddling exes, fights over their future careers, PTSD, cheating,…

daisyheadailsa commented on Which Hidden Treasure On Netflix Should Everyone Watch?

Everyone seems to overlook the Documentary section but there is absolutely loads to chose from. My favourite is 'Valley Uprising'. It explores Yosemite and it's 1970s 'hippy' generation that climbed and spent their entire lives there. It makes you realise how many different ways you…
