At Ames Feline Adoption and Rescue our purpose is to rescue stray and abandoned undomesticated feral cats and kittens found in the outlying community as well as local "kill" shelters and provide veterinary care and shelter for them. For these animals we would provide whatever veterinary health care they require including vaccinations, spaying, neutering and grooming as needed. When the health of the cat is established we would then bring them into our cattery and begin the process of domestication. Our specialized cattery is designed to feel like a family's residence. It contains a simulated dining area and living room so the cats can feel as though they are in an actual home setting, This will in turn speed the process of their become aquatinted with these types of surroundings which in ferals would be alien to them. Once they have adjusted to living among us humans and our odd behaviors we then hope to adopt them to a loving, caring and responsible families. Company Overview A.F.A.R. is a non profit organization. We hope to recoup our cost through donations, sponsors as well as selling various merchandise such as A.F.A.R. clothing and gifts through this website. Any monetary gain would be spent immediately on not only food and medical bills but building additions to the existing cattery to accommodate more feral cats and kittens.
