PETA Names Janet Jackson “Celebrity Grinch Of 2011”
The animal rights organization awarded Janet the shameful crown because of her partnership with the fur company Blackglama. The pop star topped PETA’s “most animal un-friendly celebrities” list, which also included Kim Kardashian and filmmaker Cameron Crowe.
“When Janet Jackson had her infamous ‘wardrobe malfunction’ during the Super Bowl, at least the flesh that popped into view was her own,” writes PETA’s Jeff Mackey. “Unlike the stolen animal skins that she drapes herself with, which are as dead as her taste in fashion (not to mention her career). Ms. Jackson, you’re just plain nasty.”
Neither Jackson nor Blackglama have responded to the PETA criticism.

If Ingrid Newkirk and her righteous followers want to start criticizing others, maybe she should publicly stop taking the insulin that she depends on, because its discovery involved animal testing. Maybe she should volunteer for clinical trials involving natural alternatives, or — EVEN BETTER — she can volunteer for the third round of testing for the new HIV vaccine. … or she could continue spending her time brainstorming more ways to collect money for another sexist marketing campaign. Hey, whatever floats your boat.
