Kim Jong-Il Is Dead
North Korean television announced in a special broadcast that its leader Kim Jong Il died in Pyongyang. He was 69. UPDATE: Footage of North Korean TV’s announcement of Kim’s death.
The supreme leader died of “physical fatigue” while on a train, according to local media. In 2008, it is believed that Kim suffered a stroke and has long struggled with diabetes and heart disease.
