  • The comparison to phrenology is not very apt. This study is based on surveys asking people to rate the attractiveness of faces. It is asking why black female faces score lower than all others in these surveys. (I haven't examined it in great detail, so I can't speak to whether these findings are even valid.) As far as I can tell it is not proposing anything like humours or bumps on heads that have a direct correlation to personality traits.
