August 12, 2013 The Celebrity Business Model had the PLEASURE of interviewing Drew Sherman, Entertainment Lawyer. Drew is an amazing human being, outside of the all the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. Drew has integrity. We had the the distinct opportunity to chat with Drew about the dangers of just going to Hollywood Big wigs without knowing your rights and sharing your great ideas. In Drews world that is called your "Intellectual Property". Drew explained the importance of having an Entertainment Attorney pitch your show ideas. For one, the executives know, hey this is a Lawyer. They know if they try to steal this idea and run, they will have a heavy hitter on their hands waiting to defend you.
Drew is all about education and helping the every day person understand the laws around pitching, show concepts and the importance of protecting your intellectual property.
Drew gave many instances, concepts, and samples of times he helped clients get success for their shows and intellectual property. Drew Sherman comes highly recommended as well.
During our interview we shared with Drew how one client we knew went to a department store with her pocket book idea. The department store told her they were not interested in her idea, then low and behold they stole her idea and HER NAME. The client named her pocket book her Legal name. The department store stole the idea and to this day the client can not use her name and had to start from scratch. Drew understood that type of scenerio all to well, and simply stated, "If she were my client" that would not have happened" You need a Drew Sherman at your side people!
